Sony PictureStation Printers: Done In 45 Seconds
Sony Corporation reported a release of two compact PictureStation photo printers — DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70.
Both printers are built on Sony Bionz processors capable of printing a 4x6-inch photo for 45 seconds. DPP-FP90 comes equipped with 3.6-inch color display, and DPP-FP70 has 2.5-inch display. Besides, the new printers have special handles for carrying.
One of the printers’ features is a proprietary Auto Touch-up technology, which enables users to remove ‘red eyes’ effect and increase sharpness. Special filters allow to correcti of color gamma, adjust brightness of separate image objects, or transform image into black-and-white. Finally, the new printers allow making inscriptions on image without computer; you only need to pick a phrase like ‘Happy Birthday!’ or ‘Congratulations!’ and position it with the joystick on the image.
Photos can be printed either from Memory Stick cards or directly from digital cameras supporting PictBridge Technology. In Sony they note that PictureStation DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70 printers are compatible with the majority of modern cameras, however best results can be achieved with Sony Cyber-shot and Alpha D-SLR cameras.
The printers should be available this month. The prices for DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70 make up $200 and $150 accordingly.
